The Ray of Sunshine Foundation is an Irish charity based in Co. Clare. It was established in 2013 when a group of volunteers, who had previous experience of volunteering in Mombasa came together and formed this new charity.
The charity is run by a Board of Directors from the four corners of Ireland. All Directors, Associates and Volunteers work totally on a voluntary basis.
Irish Registered Charity CHY No.20856.
Kilkenny hurling legend Henry Shefflin is the Patron of our charity. Henry is the 11- time All Star and 10- time All Ireland Senior Medal winner who has retired from his inter county hurling. The Ray of Sunshine Foundation is privileged to have Henry's name associated with our charity and appreciate him lending his support to us. He fully supports the endeavours of our Foundation and is calling on tradespeople to volunteer with The Ray of Sunshine.
Dr. Rory O Keeffe, retired GP from Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland has travelled with the Ray of Sunshine Foundation on all our projects as our Team Doctor and looks after the medical needs of all our volunteers on site. He is now based in Kenya and is bringing his medical expertise to people who are living in very deprived conditions.
The Ray of Sunshine is made up of volunteers from all over Ireland. Without our volunteers our projects would not come to fruition. It’s the blocklayer, the roofer, the plumber, the plasterer, the electrician, the tiler, the painter, the wheelbarrow pusher, the labourer, the nurse and the doctor that make our projects happen.
If you are interested in travelling with us or if you need any further information please don't hesitate to contact us.
